What is Murmello?

Murmello is a native macOS terminal with cloud workspaces for Claude Code, Codex and shell commands, plus built-in dictation. A cloud workspace runs remotely and keeps its project disk between sessions, subject to your plan’s retention limits.

Who is it for?

Developers on Apple silicon Macs who want coding agents to work remotely, keep separate project environments, and return to their work from a local terminal.

Does it support Windows, Linux or Intel Macs?

The Murmello desktop app currently requires macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon. The cloud workspace itself runs Linux. There is no Windows, Linux or Intel Mac desktop download.

Does work continue when I close my laptop?

A running task in a cloud workspace can continue without your Mac being online. Local terminal tasks still depend on your Mac. Cloud work is subject to available credits, execution time limits and service availability; idle workspaces stop automatically after 30 minutes.

Can I move an already-running local agent into the cloud?

Murmello starts a separate agent in a cloud workspace. Send your code with Git or murmello push, then start work there. It does not transfer a running local process or its in-memory state.

Does stopping preserve my running agent?

Stopping keeps files within the retention window, but ends running processes. Reopen the workspace and restart the agent in its project directory. Saved agent history can be used to continue a conversation; it is not a snapshot of a running process.

Is Murmello free?

The terminal is free, and the Free plan includes cloud time and dictation. Paid plans increase allowances and workspace limits. See all prices, limits and usage packs.

Are Claude Code and Codex included in the price?

No. Use your own provider account and any required subscription or API billing. Murmello supplies the terminal and cloud workspace; the provider supplies the agent service and sets its limits.

Are files synced automatically?

No. You decide what to send. Use Git, murmello push, drag and drop, or the File Manager. murmello fetch returns committed work to a local repository.

How long do files stay in the cloud?

Stopped workspaces have a plan-specific resume window, followed by an archive window and eventual deletion. See the retention table and check your workspace’s dates with murmello ls <id>. Shared agent settings and history are stored separately for your account.

Is dictation processed on my Mac?

The hosted dictation service streams microphone audio through Murmello to ElevenLabs for transcription. Murmello does not retain the audio or transcript. See the privacy notice for the full data flow.

Why does a workspace take time to start?

Starting may involve adding cloud capacity, attaching storage and installing your agent for the first time. Allow a few minutes. The terminal reports progress and errors; murmello ls shows current state.

How do I get help or delete my account?

Email support@murmello.ai. To delete only a workspace, stop it and use Delete in the Cloud panel. Account deletion requests remove cloud data except records that must be retained for legal or accounting purposes.
